It is a metaphor. People say it is about helping the poor. That is false. To say it is about helping the poor is a false vision of Jesus Christ. If Jesus is the way, the truth and the life then the false image of him is the antichrist.
The acts that are described in the parable are kindnesses done to help fellow believers along the way to springs of life bubbling forth. It means the help offered to someone else who is drawing close to God. As we live life listening to Jesus Christ we are on our way to the fullfillment of God's purpose for Earth. We will know what it is when we get there. To know it before you arrive is to practice magic. But that is what they do. Of course they judge themselves because they judge practicers of magic. I think it does not matter if they know they do or not. Sin gets judged. And according to them it is judged harshly. According to the way, the truth and the life sin reaps what is sown.
Are you discipling to teach people the true Jesus which is what sheep do who are on their way to evrlasting life? Or do you teach people the false Jesus which is what the goats do? Where are they going?
Or maybe you have thrown up your hands in frustration. You will reap what the world reaps.
