What is happening is a bad never ending story.  But that phrase is taken, so don't take that.

gets right on it to fix it.  Social satire would work for that.
What they are fearing is impossible.  So they have to investigate.
They are sure it is alien activity.  So they are looking for the aliens.  And they put together a great team.
